Heritage Trail Byway Ribbon Cutting Celebration 10:00am
– 5:00 pm
This
Saturday event is free and the public is invited to participate in the
day's celebration.

am The day's activities will begin at 10 am in downtown Pawhuska with
the official Ribbon Cutting & Dedication of Hwy 60
from
Bartlesville through Pawhuska to Ponca City at noon in Downtown Pawhuska.
1:00
– 3:00 Following the ceremony in downtown Pawhuska, the public will be
invited up to the Osage Nation Campus for a food
tasting
of traditional Osage Food at 813 Grandview , (Turn north
off HWY 60 on Grandview , top of the hill).
Participants
will be given a souvenir passport at the beginning of their journey; passports
must be presented to enter the featured attractions FREE. Those who receive
three stamps, any combination, will be eligible to enter the drawing for
prizes. Featured attractions include:

This
is a National Event for the Osage Nation, as dignitaries from across the
state will be present. The Lt. Governor, all Oklahoma officials,
tribal leaders and city officials will be present for this event. Free
silent movies will be shown all day at the Constantine Theater .
Monday,
April 28th -6:00 pm - The
Pawhuska Growth committee would like to invite you to the Community Center
at 6:00 pm this evening to hear a presentation about a “Main Street” Program.
Some of you may remember that Pawhuska has successfully participated in
the Main Street Program in the past. The representative will fill you
in on the requirements, resources, advantages and possibilities of the
program, which is largely aimed at economic development and tourism. This
informational meeting is open to the public and is free. If you as an
individual or as a business are at all interested in the future of your
hometown and it's ability to support our residents, please make it a point
to join us and find out what this program has to offer.

Unveiling
& Dedication of Osage County 's Centennial Clock!
Finally,
it has become a reality! The public and all the generous folks, whose
names will be on the Plaque, are invited to join the Centennial Committee
at the Chamber of Commerce for the official unveiling. Refreshment will
be offered on the grounds. Come celebrate with us as we commemorate our
part in Oklahoma 's Centennial! Pawhuska's
Osage County Centennial Clock Project is an official project of the Oklahoma
Centennial Commemoration and was funded in part through a grant made available
by the Oklahoma Legislature. The balance of the cost was paid for by those
of you who will be listed on the nearby plaque that will acknowledge your
generous contributions for the next 100 years of our great state.

Osage Nation Counseling Center is sponsoring
a self defense class and information on sexual assault. This is a FREE
community awareness class with door prizes and giveaways. Space is limited
so please RSVP by Friday the 25 th by calling 287-5422. Location is the
Wah-Zha-Zhi Cultural Center form 1:30 – 3:00 pm.

Legacy…Through the Eyes of Our Ancestors” Exhibit and workshops at the
Wah-Zha-Zhi Cultural Center . Workshops are
from 9:00 am until 3:15 pm . The Exhibit begins at 5 pm and will feature
the artwork of many Native American Students who attended the Carlisle
Indian Industrial School from 1879 – 1918.

Church Women United will hold their (the 2nd of three annual) covered
dish dinner and program beginning @ 11:30
am which coincides with church calendars on this Friendship Day. All women
of any denomination are welcome and encouraged to join others at the First

Landowners, Come Discover the Possibilities! The Osage Nation, in
partnership with The Nature Conservancy and the US Department of Agriculture,
Natural Resources Conservation Services (NRCS), would like to invite all
interested landowners to the Osage Landowners' Tallgrass
Prairie Symposium , Understanding &
Managing Your Rangeland , to be held Saturday, May 10,
2008 8:00 am – 3:00 pm at the Tallgrass Prairie Nature Preserve. The conference
will include talks addressing: Prescribed Fires, Problem Species,
Grazing Management, Wildlife Management, Range Management & Herbicide
use. In addition, there will be discussion topics such as The
Osage Rangeland Youth Corps: How Can They Help , Agri-tourism
on the Osage Reservation and Federal Programs for Osage
Landowners . Speakers will include staff from The Nature
Conservancy, the NRCS, OSU Extension and Oklahoma Agri-tourism.
Registration begins at 8:00a.m. - Participants will return to the
Tourism office and Gift shop around 3:00 p.m. Seating is limited for this
conference so call for reservations by Friday, April 18, 2008. For
Reservations call the Osage Nation ENR Office at 918/287-5333. The Symposium
will start at 8:00 a.m. at the Osage Nation Tourism and Gift Shop offices
located at 222 W. Main in Pawhuska where all participants will check in
and obtain materials for the tour. Breakfast sandwiches, coffee
and juice will be served. The tour bus will leave the gift shop
building at 9:00 a.m. Most of the presentations will be given during a
bus tour of the prairie, with stops at scenic locations that will demonstrate
some of the discussion topics. After the bus tour, the group will
meet at the Nature Conservancy Headquarters to have a traditional Osage
lunch and wrap up the conference with additional presentations and discussions.
The tour bus will take the participants back to the Tourism office and
Gift shop around 3:00 p.m. Breakfast and lunch, as well as snacks, will
be provided!!! Seating is limited for this conference so call for
reservations by Friday, April 18, 2008. No Registration
