Friday, February 26th - Lion's Club Fundraiser Dinner! Gather together with the Club members this evening for a chili / stew meal from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Senior Citizens Center. For your $5 per person, you will have your choice of Chili or Stew with Cornbread, Crackers, Dessert and Drink.

Friday, February 26th - "Osage Bands and Clans" lecture. The Osage Tribal Museum, Wah-Zha-Zhi Cultural Center and the Osage Nation Historic Preservation Department cordially invite you to attend a lecture by Dr Garrick Bailey, entitled, "Osage Bands and Clans". The event will be held at the Wah-Zha-Zhi Cultural Center, located at 1449 W. Main, in Pawhuska, Okla. (next to ALCO) on Friday, February 26 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. The lecture is free and open to the public. Dr. Bailey received his Ph. D. from the University of Oregon, and currently teaches anthropology at the University of Tulsa. He is the co-author of "HUMANITY: AN INTRODUCTION TO CULTURAL ANTHROPOLOGY", a textbook that is now in its sixth edition. Many people remember "ART OF THE OSAGE", the companion book to the 2004 St. Louis (Missouri) Art Museum exhibit. The Oklahoma Historical Society awarded it as the Outstanding Book on Oklahoma History. His latest book entitled "TRADITIONS OF THE OSAGE", a collection of 49 stories collected and transcribed by Francis LaFlesche, will be released early this Spring. Some of his activities include being a former member of the NAGPRA (Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation) National Review Committee, a current member of the America Indian Resource Center, Advisory Board, Tulsa City-County Library System, since 2000, and a former Board of Director for the Osage Tribal Museum (1993-96). Saturday, February 27th - ESA members would like to invite everyone to a Community-wide Party for Ginny Horn at the Osage County Fairgrounds beginning at 5:00 pm. Entertainment will be provided by Clancy Davis (www.clancydavis.com), a senior at Vanoss High School. Chili dogs, chips, soft drinks and desserts will be provided FREE. The Pawhuska Chamber of Commerce encourages you to 'Save the Date' for the 2010 "Diamond In the Rough" Annual Gala and Auction on Friday, March 26th, 2010, Generously Sponsored by the Osage Million Dollar Elm! The Chamber's chief fundraising event will be held at the Elk's Lodge from 6:00 till 9:00 pm, and has become one of the foremost semi formal social events of the year. While everyone is welcome, reservations are required to attend this dressy evening of cocktails, dinner and both silent and live auctions. Reservations are being accepted and can be confirmed with payment at the Pawhuska Chamber of Commerce office located at 210 W. Main or by mail to P.O. Box 5, Pawhuska, OK 74056. Individual reservations are $35.00 each and $500 will reserve a table for eight, so mark your calendar and join us! Cash, Checks, Visa, MasterCard and American Express are accepted.
    Everyone is welcome to join us for this after five evening event, however it is by reservation only, so we would appreciate your RSVP by March 24th. Reservations will not be accepted on the 25th, 26th or at the door. Please call the Chamber at 287-1208 or come by (210 W. Main) to confirm your reservation today! Attendance is by reservation only at $35.00 each OR a donation of $500.00 reserves your table for eight with preferred seating and donor acknowledgment in event program. Credit Cards are now accepted at the Chamber offices. We are glad to be able to offer this convenient, confidential service to anyone wishing to buy tickets to the Gala, purchase an auction item, pay an entry fee and to cover your annual Chamber membership dues or to purchase any products or merchandise sold by the Chamber. The committee members; Chairperson Diana Gaffney, Mary Jane Mashunkashey, Cathy Worten, Cindy Tillman, Cindy Free, AJ Hamilton and many others are working to gather a wide array of items and services to offer for both the Silent and Live auctions which will be handled again this year by Ron P. Reed.
Monday, March 1st - PHS Honors Banquet! This annual acknowledgment of Pawhuska's outstanding students will be held at the Elk's Lodge at 6:30 pm. Tickets are available now and in advance only, no tickets will be sold at the door. Tickets are $6.50 each and can be obtained at Pawhuska Hometown Foods or Pawhuska High School. This year's speaker is PHS graduate, Neil Justesen.

Tuesday, March 2nd - PHS Golf/Tennis Taco Dinner Fundraiser The PHS tennis and Golf teams are going together on a Taco Dinner fundraiser starting at 6:00 pm in the Elementary Cafeteria. Dinner will cost $5.00 at the door. All proceeds will go toward possible new equipment, uniforms, tournament entries and state tournament trips. If you have any questions about the fundraiser, would like to help or would like to donate food please contact Ryan Malone or Monty Unruh at the high school OR Heidi Unruh at the elementary. Saturday, March 6th - First Saturday in Pawhuska! Make your way downtown today for Pawhuska's premier shopping day. Be sure and visit Lloyd Gallery (107 E. 6th) from 5:00 till 7:00 pm to take in the new Bronze Horse Exhibition. Beautiful bronzes, from miniature to heroic sized, are the business of the very talented Free family and many other artists and craftsmen. Stop by for a fascinating glimpse of some beautiful works of art and learn about the process of their creation.

Saturday, March 6th - Don't let your Saturday evening end there; at 7:00 pm everyone is invited to stroll down the street a block or so, to AJ Hamilton's apartment above her HHH Gallery (623 Kihekah, Historic Bank of Commerce Bldg.). Please feel free to join others upstairs for a casual and friendly party. The door will be open and balloons will welcome you. Take this opportunity to visit more with those from the Bronze Horse and other artistic and creative nice people that will also be in attendance.

Saturday, March 6th - 2nd ANNUAL PAT PATTON STEW/CHILI COOK-OFF, beginning at 6:30 pm at Shidler School's Old Gym. Sponsored by Shidler Volunteer Fire Dept. Cook-Off is open for public entry, no pre-entry required. There will be a silent auction during the cook-off. Adults $7.00 or two for $10.00, children 12 & under $3.00 or two $5.00.
